INNOCOM (Innovative Communications) has been working on a design project to create a Science and Business Park in the regeneration area of Hayle, Cornwall, incorporating a world class science gallery, hotel and conference facilities, and business units which will link to universities and organisations around the world.
The link for this project to the regeneration area of Hayle, St Ives and the environs, which is scattered with mines, two working fishing/leisure harbours and outstanding beaches, is the important part Hayle played since the mid 18th century in the industrial revolution.
In the 18C Hayle exploded onto the industrial scene with a vigour and dynamism which few could have imagined, making the history of Hayle part and parcel of the industrial expansion in the 19C and a microcosmic mirror of the pioneering inventiveness of those times.
Innocom chose three areas in Hayle and produced designs suitable for each in conjunction with the architect Matthew Borowiecki -DLG; Construction Consultants - Rider Levett Bucknall; Planning Consultants - CSJ and Property Consultants - Alder King.
The South Quay, Hayle Harbour,
Nut Hill, Lelant Downs
Both areas are within the Hayle Area Action Plan : issues and options 2008. Work gradually wound down with onset of the economic decline.
